Exploration Geologist – True East Mining Company

Exploration Geologist – True East Mining Company

True East Mining Company is opening an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and field-driven Exploration Geologist to join our expanding exploration team. This role is designed for geologists who thrive in hands-on field environments, enjoy solving geological problems, and are committed to contributing meaningfully to the discovery and development of mineral resources. If you have a strong background in practical exploration work—from geological mapping to drilling and sampling—this position will allow you to apply your skills in a dynamic and challenging setting.

About the Role

This is a field-intensive, exploration-focused position suitable for professionals who enjoy spending significant time on site conducting geological investigations. The successful candidate will participate in regional reconnaissance programs as well as detailed deposit-scale work. Assignments may include mapping broad geological terrains, logging drill core or RC chips, generating geological interpretations, and managing sampling programs across various stages of project development.

The role will involve close collaboration with field teams, senior geologists, drilling contractors, and technical specialists. You will be expected to plan and implement fieldwork efficiently, maintain high technical standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of exploration workflows and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Geological Mapping and Field Investigations
You will conduct both regional and detailed geological mapping to support the identification of mineralized trends, lithological variations, structural controls, and alteration assemblages. This includes preparing mapping plans, interpreting field data, updating maps, and communicating findings to the exploration team.

2. Drilling Support and Core/Chip Logging
The role requires active involvement in drilling programs, including collar planning, daily communication with drilling contractors, and consistent core or RC logging according to company standards. You will also participate in interpreting lithology, alteration, mineralization, structure, and geotechnical parameters recorded during drilling.

3. Sampling and Quality Control
As part of routine field operations, you will supervise sample collection, ensure proper handling and dispatch, and maintain sampling quality following best-practice QA/QC standards. This includes monitoring blanks, duplicates, standards, and ensuring accurate sample tracking.

4. GIS and 3D Modelling
Proficiency in GIS, MapInfo, Leapfrog, and Surpac is essential. You will manage and update spatial datasets, build 3D geological models, generate cross-sections, and assist in the interpretation of mineralized systems. Strong digital competence will support decision-making and guide ongoing targeting.

5. Data Interpretation and Reporting
You will synthesize field observations, drilling data, and geochemical results into clear geological interpretations. Responsibilities include writing daily reports, maintaining updated logs, contributing to technical reports, and presenting findings to the exploration management team.

6. Field Leadership and Safety Compliance
The position requires taking an active part in field leadership, ensuring safe working practices, and guiding field assistants when needed. You are expected to follow all company health, safety, and environmental protocols and help maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven field experience in mineral exploration, ideally with exposure to early-stage and advanced-stage exploration programs.

  • Strong practical knowledge of geological mapping techniques, drill program workflows, and sampling procedures.

  • Technical proficiency in GIS software, MapInfo, Leapfrog Geo, and Surpac for geological modelling and spatial analysis.

  • Ability to work effectively in remote conditions, sometimes under demanding environmental or logistical circumstances.

  • Strong communication skills, report-writing ability, and an analytical mindset for evaluating geological data.

  • Only applicants with relevant experience and proven technical ability will be considered.

Why Join True East Mining Company?

True East Mining Company offers an environment where exploration geologists can grow their technical expertise and play a direct role in shaping successful exploration outcomes. You will work in a professional setting where innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence are encouraged. This role is ideal for ambitious geologists looking to elevate their career by gaining deeper exposure to exploration strategy, modelling, and deposit evaluation.
