🎯 We’re Hiring: Mid-Level Exploration Geophysicist (BS, 5+ Years Experience)

Location: Saudi Arabia – Arabian–Nubian Shield

Discipline Focus: Gold & Base Metals Exploration

Company: GeoTech Arabia

GeoTech Arabia continues to strengthen its exploration footprint across the Arabian–Nubian Shield (ANS)—one of the world’s most geologically prospective regions for gold, copper, and polymetallic deposits. As part of our expanding technical team, we are seeking a highly capable Mid-Level Exploration Geophysicist with a strong foundation in mineral exploration geophysics and at least five years of hands-on experience in planning, executing, and interpreting geophysical programs.

This role is ideal for a geophysicist who thrives in dynamic field environments, understands modern exploration workflows, and is able to transform raw geophysical data into meaningful geological insights. Candidates with previous experience in the ANS will be given strong preference due to the region’s complex structural and metallogenic characteristics.

🎯 About the Role

As an Exploration Geophysicist at GeoTech Arabia, you will play a central role in designing and implementing geophysical surveys across a variety of deposit styles and structural settings. Your expertise will contribute directly to the discovery of new mineral targets and the refinement of ongoing exploration programs.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of geophysical work—from survey planning, contractor supervision, field QC, and data processing, to modelling, inversion, and final interpretation. A key aspect of the role is the integration of geophysical results with regional geology, remote-sensing datasets, geochemistry, and structural interpretations to develop robust, drill-ready targets.

The position requires strong field leadership, technical problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple datasets across varied terrains within Saudi Arabia’s mineral belts.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

1. Survey Planning & Design

  • Develop detailed geophysical survey plans for magnetic, induced polarization (IP), resistivity, EM (VLF/TDEM/VTEM), gravity, radiometric, and AMT/MT methods as required by project objectives.
  • Assess terrain constraints, logistics, and data-quality requirements to ensure optimal acquisition strategies.
  • Collaborate with geologists and project managers to align survey designs with exploration priorities.

2. Field Operations & Contractor Supervision

  • Provide on-site supervision and technical guidance to geophysical contractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform daily QC of field data, including noise assessment, instrument calibration checks, receiver/transmitter positioning, and line consistency.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and recommend mitigation strategies for achieving high-quality datasets.

3. Data Processing, Modelling & Inversion

  • Process and enhance datasets using industry-standard tools such as Oasis montaj, Res2D/3D, EM processing platforms, and gravity/magnetic interpretation software.
  • Perform 2D and 3D inversions to develop subsurface models for structural mapping, alteration mapping, lithological discrimination, and target vectoring.
  • Generate interpretations aligned with geological frameworks, metallogenic models, and known deposit signatures within the ANS.

4. Target Generation & Integration

  • Integrate geophysical interpretations with geological mapping, geochemical surveys, and remote-sensing analyses to identify promising mineralized zones.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary target-generation workshops with senior geologists and exploration managers.
  • Deliver clear recommendations for drill hole positioning, follow-up surveys, or advanced modelling.

5. Reporting & Technical Communication

  • Prepare accurate, professional geophysical reports that document methodologies, processing workflows, models, interpretations, and recommendations.
  • Communicate technical results to exploration teams, management, and joint-venture partners as needed.

  • Maintain organized project documentation, survey metadata, and data-management systems for future reference.

🎯 What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or closely related field (Master’s degree beneficial).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mineral exploration geophysics.

  • Strong, hands-on understanding of near-surface and deep-seeking exploration methods, including magnetics, IP/Resistivity, EM (VLF/TDEM/VTEM), gravity, radiometrics, AMT/MT, and related processing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Oasis montaj, Res2D/Res3D, EM processing platforms, and geophysical modelling/inversion software.

  • Effective use of GIS platforms (QGIS, ArcGIS) for map production and the integration of multidisciplinary datasets.
  • Prior work experience in the Arabian–Nubian Shield is a major advantage.
  • Strong field leadership, HSE awareness, and ability to supervise contractors in rugged terrain.
  • Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to translate geophysical data into exploration insights.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

🎯 How to Apply

If you meet the qualifications and are eager to contribute to pioneering exploration across one of the world’s most prospective mineral belts, we’d like to hear from you.
